Live Non-Permanent Chalk Pastel Mandala Blessing Mural

In Fall 2020 : Kari installed (12) non-permanent murals to raise money for a young person who passed away, in order to raise awareness about suicide. Together, we raised $250 to donate to Hope for the Day in 2020 in his name.

All murals are made in a circle called a mandala, but why?

Mandalas originally come from eastern religions, but most recently are used as a symbol of time, wholeness, and organizational structure of life. A mural's construction encourages reflection, patience, and the act of being present when the mural exists; so when it is gone you can recall the event as a positive memory.

Nearly all households have mentioned how watching the creation of their mandala is healing, comforting, and reflective.

The Mental health crisis has greatly increased by the lack of social interaction and the stress of protecting you and your loved ones from COVID during this time. Kari will continue to promise a portion of each mural in 2021 for the cause of Suicide awareness. For more information about Hope for the Day, please visit: https://www.hftd.org/

+ Murals are non-permanent in the medium of chalk pastels, most last about 1 day to 5 weeks.

+ The concrete and other outdoor elements of each location will affect the final product of every mural

+ Locations offered are Northern Colorado, the Greater Denver Area, and the Colorado Springs Area, and more.
