ON PRINTMAKING BY HAND

As an artist, I believe it is my obligation to speak up, visually is my favorite means. Whether it's printing with unexpected materials or repurposing items that people otherwise do not value, I believe it is my duty to create.

Most of my work is done completely by hand, though this is not the fastest route to an end product, I believe there is a power that my work holds because of the handmade requirement. This energy is different than reproductions printed from a computer, it is absolutely human - flaws and all.

All of my work is packaged in recycled materials as much as humanly possible, and this value reflects in the content of my art work as well.

Printmaking is my medium of choice, I draw on a variety of materials: zinc plate, hard board, or linoleum, in order to create the final design. The printing process includes inking each plate by hand and printing it on acid free paper rolling it in a large human powered press.

Printmaking is removed from this digital world in the process, there is no faster way to hand print, as each print needs individual attention. And that's the way I like it.
